SURFSeq Q Ultra High Throughput Sequencer Released

On October 15, 2024, GeneMind hosted the “2024 Life Omics Innovation Ecosystem Conference and GeneMind New Product Launch” in Nanjing, Jiangsu province. With the theme “Sequencing Powerhouse: Unlocking the Genetic Potential”, the event brought together nearly 200 industry experts, partners, domestic and international users, government officials, and media representatives. The conference discussed new trends and opportunities in life omics and explored innovative growth models for the gene industry.

At the conference, GeneMind launched the SURFSeq Q, a ground breaking ultra-high-throughput sequencer for large-scale genomic studies. SURFSeq Q boasts the highest global daily data output, producing up to 9 terabytes per day and 14 terabytes per sequencing run. It can perform over 20,000 human whole-genome sequences annually and supports various applications such as cancer mutation detection and microbial genome sequencing. By incorporating several innovative technologies, including lightning chemistry, patterned array sequencing flow cell and advanced AI learning basecalling algorithm, the SURFSeq Q is capable of achieving a Q40 score >=90%.
Thanks to its user-friendly design, the system features individually addressable flow cell lanes with automated onboard independent lane loading. This allows users to easily split projects and samples across up to eight lanes. Additionally, it supports resuming sequencing from a break-point and enables users to monitor the sequencing run using their mobile phone, from anywhere and at any time.
