On March 18, 2026, GeneMind successfully held the handover ceremony of the SURFSeq 5000 Genetic Sequencer to Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL) — marking GeneMind's 1000th sequencer delivery.
This milestone is not only a key step for SZBL's genomics platform but also a powerful demonstration of GeneMind's NGS technology empowering cutting-edge research.
Dr. Huan Tu, Deputy Director of SZBL, stated that SZBL will adhere to its mission: to create advanced research platforms, gather high-end talents and drive leading-edge discoveries in frontier and applied areas of bio-medicine as well as enable clinical trials to facilitate the development of biomedical industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. The SURFSeq 5000 will enhance SZBL's capabilities in high-throughput sequencing and multi-omics analysis, supporting genomics research, disease mechanism studies, and precision medicine translation.
Zhiliang Zhou, President of GeneMind, noted that the 1000th delivery is a landmark for GeneMind and a recognition of GeneMind's sequencing technology. Amid warm applause, he presented a commemorative plaque for the 1,000th SURFSeq 5000 sequencer, officially marking its delivery and commissioning at SZBL.
